I have been on dialysis many years and am involved in an advocacy group that has been working hard on this situation. The truth is that there is a huge difference between those getting chemotherapy and those on dialysis. People on dialysis will never make new red blood cells (what these drugs help do) because their kidneys do not produce enough erythropoetin. They need these drugs.

I benefited greatly from these drugs and was able to have energy enough to live a normal life on dialysis. Yes, the large pharma companies make a profit on something people genuinely need. Shame on them for charging so much. However, the studies that were done were done on pre-dialysis patients and are not conclusive concerning dialysis patients. (See http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0ICF/is_3_34/ai_n19377473/ for a detailed account of these tests). There has been huge continuing debate on this among those in the kidney community.

I hope those who are talking about these issues remain well-informed. If the dosage and hemoglobin levels are too low, there are also adverse risks, probably more so that if hemoglobin levels are high. Consider the current hemoglobin limit for dialysis patients: not to exceed 12.0 g/dL. Normal men have a hemoglobin of more than 13.0 and women more than 12.0.

I'm just relaying this information so that people understand the facts. There are a lot of factors at play with dialysis patients, and the dosage of these drugs needs to be discussed with a physician who is aware of all of the individual's personal history and lifestyle. I will say from personal experience, it's difficult to live life normally with a hemoglobin under 12.0.

Through our gospel preaching in villages and towns we eventually discovered things which is not only for preaching to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord but problem of humanitarian. We saw children that abandoned school moving in the street both boys and girls becouse their parent are not capable support them any longer due to finacial crises. Some are ophans they must go labour for someone before daily bread in a tore dresses,at the side of adults they are farmers in early age and some are jobless seeking for what to do but no means etc.
All this things we found in our mission which only preaching can't solve it, therefore we are writting to to you as fellow brothers and sisters in Christ that what primary step can we take to support the children and the parents in this centers?.
Thank you intensely for your comprension.
